You will practice most of the reading strategies on your own current (or future) reading projects.

In addition, we provide a variety of flexible “strategy modules” to help you immediately apply elements of your new skill once you return to your job.

 


Classroom training typically occurs in a controlled and safe learning environment.  When you return to your place of work (after the seminar) - you may sincerely want to apply your new skills - but your work environment is often rushed and chaotic.  Feeling the pressure to complete your assignments, you may delay applying your new skills and resort to your old (and "comfortable") skills. 

Our “strategy modules” are short, realistic techniques that can be quickly integrated into your preferred method of operation (i.e. comfort zone).  The immediate (and successful) application of these strategies will then provide you the extra time (and energy) to apply the additional strategies learned in the classroom.

But our seminars do more than just show you how to set a goal and stay on course.  Our learning strategies are extremely flexible and allow for multi-tasking. You often must focus on several goals each day, so we teach strategies that will show you how to organize your projects to ensure a seamless transition from one project to the next.

Reading

We will show you how to use your preferred learning & thinking style to efficiently organize reading assignments & decipher complex information - even if outside your field of expertise.

Writing

We will show you how to create documents that appeal directly to your intended readers.

Thinking

We will show you how to use your preferred learning & thinking style to take advantage of your personal cognitive strengths while minimizing any learning deficiencies.  In addition, if you are a manager, we will show you how to recognize and utilize the learning and thinking strengths of your team members.

 


When you use your preferred learning and thinking style to gather and process new information, you are using your natural aptitude.  When a process feels natural, it is always easier to implement. After all, you don't avoid the easy tasks; but you may avoid starting complex or undesirable tasks.  

You, however, may consider attending a seminar to be an undesirable task.  But when our past participants used their preferred learning and thinking style to apply our strategies, the process felt more like a common sense extension of what they already know - which makes it more likely you will apply our learning strategies long after the seminar ends.

You can select your own seminar location, date and length through our
Seminar Preference Form

Once we have a minimum of 10 paid enrollments for your preferred seminar we will arrange for classroom space in your chosen city or town.   

If you like, you could create your own seminar group by encouraging friends, co-workers, etc. to attend your preferred seminar.  If successful, you would receive a Free Enrollment Certificate and ensure your seminar runs as planned.  Click here for details.

 


It can be difficult to remain focused during a full-day seminar, particularly if you putting off work or family duties to attend the seminar - not to mention the challenge of retaining everything you see and hear.

Our 4-hour seminar provides a "get the information and apply it" format.  In just 4 hours you will leave with a strong understanding of your personal learning and thinking style, and all the strategies necessary to apply and develop your new skills at work or at home.

If you would prefer to leave our seminar with your new skills firmly in place, the  longer formats will ensure you have complete command of the strategies by the end of the seminar.

Why do we offer free enrollments?

It’s a matter of economics - if you provide us the names of individuals interested in your preferred seminar, it is far more cost effective (for us) than marketing our public seminars through direct mail and newspaper advertisements.  Typically, people ask their friends, relatives, or colleagues if they are interested in the same seminar then present their names. We do not create mailing lists - interested individuals will only be contacted for the seminar they expressed an interest in.

Absolutely No Book Sales

Most public seminar providers attempt to generate additional revenue through the sale of books and resource materials (during the seminar).

Naturally, we believe in lifelong learning, but during the seminar we prefer to focus solely on our students, the seminar topics and materials.

 


You will spend the entire seminar learning the skills you want.  We will not ask you to purchase additional materials.

We have designed our programs and participant workbook to ensure you leave our seminars with all the information and strategies necessary to excel at your new skill.

A Spiral Binder Containing:

This workbook will not only keep you focused during the seminar, it will serve as a valuable resource for applying the strategies long after the seminar ends. 

The availability of the workbook at the beginning of the seminar also helps reduce any learning anxiety you may feel when starting a seminar.  Some people are simply not very comfortable in a learning environment - due to poor teachers in the past or overly complex lessons.  Knowing you will have your own workbook with all the strategies listed (during and after the seminar) you will be able to enjoy the class activities and interactions with the other participants.

TL Advisor Program (following the seminar)

You will have unlimited online access to your instructor for six months following the seminar. 

 


This is another stress reducer for the learner.  Normally, you must conceive and ask your questions during the actual seminar to take advantage of the instructor's knowledge. This can place a lot of pressure on you - which can cloud the thinking process. How many times have you thought of questions after a seminar ended?
