Frequently Asked Questions Program Representative ■ Lead Generator ■ Contract Instructor For Program Representatives & Lead Generators
Why did Target Learning create this lead development system? Wouldn't it be easier to place ads in newspapers and on the radio? | | Yes, it would be easier, but not as effective. Target Learning Program Representatives situated across the country can discuss our programs one-on-one with interested individuals and provide in-depth, personalized information. Local representatives also are more aware of their community's specific training needs, therefore creating more of a targeted (and efficient) promotional effort. Regarding cost, a newspaper display ad generally consumes more than 25% of our seminar revenue, without any guarantee that it will result in sufficient enrollments to run a program. Thus, paying a representative at least 25% for each paid enrollment makes more sense. |
Why wouldn't Target Learning simply call every referral an "open lead" to avoid paying the higher compensation rate? | | Not only would it be ethically wrong, it would be a poor business policy. If Representatives or Lead Generators felt they were not receiving fair compensation for their efforts they would stop submitting leads to Target Learning - in such a case, no one wins. |
When would I receive payment for referrals that result in a paid seminar? | | You would receive payment one week from the last class day. Bonus payments will be paid once Target Learning receives full payment from the client or individual customer. |
If I submit a name for a specific seminar but the individual decides to enroll (and pay) at a later date for a different Target Learning seminar, will I still receive compensation for the referral? | | Yes, the name submitted resulted in a paid Target Learning seminar, therefore the referral would be considered a "confirmed lead" and you would be compensated at the 25% pay rate (and receive any applicable bonuses). |
II know of several people who are interested in Target Learning programs but haven't made up their mind if they want to enroll in a specific seminar, if I submit their names and contact information to Target Learning will I be compensated based on your "confirmed lead" referral policy? | | Yes, if (in the future) any individuals from your list of names enroll and pay for a Target Learning seminar he or she will be considered a "confirmed lead" and you would receive the 25% commission rate (and any applicable bonuses). Note: You will be paid only once for each enrollment, but our bonus plan will reward you for repeat business. |
If I submit a large group of names, phone numbers and addresses from individuals who are unaware that Target Learning is receiving their names, will I receive compensation if any of them enroll in a Target Learning seminar? | | First of all, Target Learning will not pay for a generic mailing or phone list from Representatives or Lead Generators. We have set up this contract lead system to avoid generic mailings and national cold calling - they tend to be expensive and not very cost-effective for the type of service we offer. |
Can I conduct my own direct mail campaigns, and if I do, will Target Learning reimburse me for the cost? | | As an Independent Contractor, you can select your own marketing methods - but Target Learning can not reimburse you directly for the cost of developing and implementing a direct mail campaign. However, if your marketing efforts are successful we can increase your commission percentage to compensate for your added expenses. This will allow you to still deduct your marketing expenses on your annual taxes. |
How will I be paid if I submit the name of a person representing an organization that wants to run a Target Learning seminar for their employees? | | If the referral signs a Target Learning Seminar Agreement within 6 months from first contact with Target Learning, you will receive 25% of the total seminar fee paid by the client (and any applicable bonuses). |
For business and government programs why do I receive a percentage of the total seminar fee instead of being paid for each participant that takes the seminar? | | Business and government programs are unique. When a representative from an organization hires Target Learning to conduct a seminar on their premises, they select which employees will take the program. Since Target Learning generally does not have control over how may employees will enroll in the program it is more fair (and more lucrative) for representatives to receive a percentage of the total seminar revenue. |
For Contract Instructors
When do I receive payment for teaching a Target Learning seminar? | | You will receive payment one week from the last class day. |
Can I teach seminars for training providers other than Target Learning? | | Yes, you are considered an Independent Contractor and can work for as many companies as you like (if you use their material and content). Target Learning materials and content are proprietary and cannot be used with (or for) other training programs or seminars without prior approval from Target Learning. |
What should I do if registered students don't show up for the first class day? | | You should contact Target Learning at 888-514-5904 as soon as possible. We will have all of the contact information for each registered student. We prefer that you focus on delivering a quality presentation - let us worry about the administrative aspect of the seminar. |
Do I need to sell books or tapes during the seminars that I teach? | | We are in the process of creating books and tapes based on our seminars. These materials will be made available to our participants, but instructors will not be required to sell these materials. The decision to re-hire instructors will be based solely on the quality of their instruction. |
