Duties & Responsibilities - Program Representative

PREFACE:  The duties and responsibilities listed within this page are recommendations for the successful development and implementation of a Target Learning Corp. (TLC) program.  Any individual hired by TLC as an Instructor or Representative would be considered an "Independent Contractor".  As an Independent Contractor, you would be responsible for the successful completion of the contract assignment offered by TLC - the manner in which that assignment is completed is at your discretion.  Naturally, to preserve the integrity of TLC and its programs, we are seeking individuals interested in applying the strategies and methods that have worked well for TLC for more than ten years.  Individuals who do not perform according to the high professional and ethical standards of TLC will not be offered additional contract assignments.

  STEP 1
- Lead Generation

To help generate leads Program Representatives will have access to the following (free) marketing resources:

  Target Learning Web Site
  Online Registration Service
  Seminar Request Online Form
Online Rate Quote & Customization Form
  Toll-Free Customer Service Telephone Number
  Payment Processing Service
  Professional Telephone Product Specialists

In addition, Representatives can develop a significant lead base through their own methods or by using any of the following marketing strategies:

►  Cold Calling
►  Direct Mail
►  Local/Regional Chamber of Commerce
►  Networking
►  Local Advertisements
►  Sample Seminars
►  Speaking Engagements

Definitions and details on how to implement each strategy will be provided to Program Representatives once they have completed the first two steps of the TLC Certification Process.

NOTE:  As Independent Contractors, TLC Program Representatives determine their own work hours, and how much effort they want to apply toward promoting TLC programs.  Of course, representatives don't receive any compensation until a TLC seminar is completed.

If a TLC Representative elects to use paid advertising (newspaper/radio ads, direct mail, etc.) as a medium for generating leads the costs will be the responsibility of the representative.  However, if a TLC seminar is developed and runs as result of the paid advertising, TLC will provide a monetary bonus equivalent to the cost of the representative’s marketing expenses.

  STEP 2
- Registration & Logistics

Individual Registration – Public Programs

TLC handles all payment details. For example, once a registration is submitted by the representative we will process the individual's cash, check or credit card and send the appropriate receipt to their mailing address. Since we require full payment at least two weeks before the class day for our public programs, instructors will not need to accept or process payments. However, from time to time an individual may register late for a program and be required to make payment to the instructor on the first class day, in such cases the instructor simply forwards the payment information (or dollars) directly to TLC for processing.

Group Registration – Public Programs

If a group of individuals would like to register for a TLC seminar (and they are paying for the program out-of pocket) the same process used for individual registrations apply - the representative should submit all the registrations at one time to ensure the group discount is applied.

Client Registration – Business/Government Programs

In coordination with Target Learning staff representatives will obtain the full names, contact numbers and titles for each employee expected to attend the Target Learning seminar.  Through a TLC Seminar Agreement the dates, times and cost for each seminar will be recorded and provided to the representative.

Student Registration – High School/College Programs

School Programs are run on-site in a classroom provided by the school's head administrator.  The students' parents normally assume responsibility for the seminar enrollment fees.  Therefore, once the representative receives permission from the school administrator to run a TLC program on their premises, the representative should request a parent contact list to notify the parents of the program.  If the school is unable to release such a list the school can send notices to the parents regarding the availability of the program - TLC can assume the cost of writing and printing the notices.

Program Representatives will receive payment for their services one week from the last class day of the seminar.

Travel Plans

As an Independent Contractor, TLC Representatives will be responsible for their own travel expenses while promoting TLC programs (which are tax-deductible).

Customer Service

Representatives, instructors and seminar participants will have full access to our staff through our toll-free telephone number. This number can be used to solve registration, scheduling and billing issues.
