I don't have time to take a 5, 10, 15 or 20-hour program.

Each session will meet during your normal school schedule, so you can use one of your free periods to attend each daily session. And at the beginning of the program, you will receive a binder containing all the handouts, learning strategies and materials for this program. Therefore, if your schedule prevents you from attending a particular session you will still have the materials to review on your own.

To ensure each session is productive, you will actually apply the study techniques using your current homework assignments. As a result, we will make certain you are applying the techniques properly - while you are completing your homework. There are not any outside assignments for this program.

Actually, since our reading and study skills strategies will make you a more efficient student, you will see the following time-saving benefits before you even complete the program.

  Less daydreaming while reading
  Less re-reading
Less time spent reviewing material already read
Less time required studying/reviewing for tests
  Less time writing research papers
Improved time management and organizational skills

My current schedule doesn’t have room for another class, even for only 1 or 2 weeks.

We want you to honor all of your commitments while at school - whether they are academic, athletic, extracurricular, and even social. Because of this, we realize you may not have any free periods during the day.

To help, we can run sessions as late as 9:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday). And if there is enough interest, we can even offer sessions on Saturday and Sunday. For those who are severely time-challenged, we can also arrange special times to make up for missed sessions.

I don't need help with all my reading and study skills, I just need help in specific areas
.

You will receive a detailed course outline describing when each topic (and learning strategy) will be presented - this will allow you to attend the sessions that are the most relevant to your specific needs.

Of course, we do encourage you to attend as many sessions as possible since our learning strategies have helped even top performing students become more efficient and effective at their studies.

I've taken study skills courses before, but the techniques took too much effort to implement or didn't work well for my way of doing things
.

Most generic study skills courses are designed for the "average" student and for "average" learning conditions. But as you know, every student is different and has unique needs; and learning conditions constantly change - and each teacher has a different presentation style, and different expectations.

It is also safe to say that you are not 100% motivated to learn something new every single day.

Our reading and study skills programs are definitely not generic. Early in the program, we will help you discover your most natural (and comfortable) way to learn through a variety of learning and thinking assessments.

During the program, you will have the opportunity to try a variety of flexible techniques on your current homework to see which techniques best fit your learning and thinking style.  In fact, our past students have said the process felt so natural, it didn't feel like they were even applying a technique.

Everything sounds great during the program, but what happens (after the program) if I have difficulty applying the new reading and study techniques
?

If you don't remember something presented during the program (or if you encounter a new study problem after the program), you can e-mail the instructor with your questions or requests for additional help.

This is a free service that you can use at any time for six months after you complete the program.
