 What will I learn?

You will learn how to improve your reading, writing and thinking skills to help make learning easier, and fun. Yes, we said fun.

Specifically, you will learn how to use your personal learning and thinking style to excel at:

Text Readings

Read faster with better comprehension, retention and recall
Improve overall concentration while reading (avoid daydreaming)
Take concise and relevant notes while reading
Minimize amount of time required to complete a reading assignment
Determine which information in your readings will likely be on your tests
Find key information quickly in all types of material

Fiction Analysis

Apply practical and flexible methods for finding the key elements in fiction
Refine critical thinking skills to discover intentions of the author & the teacher

Lectures

  Stay awake and focused
Listen and remember what you hear
Ask the right questions to reinforce your understanding of the material
  Take concise (but thorough) notes
Develop a better understanding of the teacher's overall goal for the course

Research Papers

Develop a comprehensive research plan based on your own way of learning
Avoid procrastination and create an effective timetable for each project
Create a thorough, highly readable, research paper - on time

Exams

Enter a testing room with confidence and minimal stress
Complete each exam in the time allotted, with a high degree of success
Avoid the "Oh, I should've got that one!" syndrome
Avoid cramming 2 chapters into your head 5 minutes before the exam

Time Management & Organizational Skills

 Avoid "all-nighters"
  Minimize procrastination
  Minimize stress
Have more time for leisure and recreation - believe it or not

 How will I learn it?

You will learn how to apply a variety of flexible (and proven) reading and study strategies using your own
preferred learning style. Keep in mind, this is not a gimmick course, these techniques do require practice. Fortunately, we make certain you have plenty of time in class to get the hands-on experience to become proficient with these learning methods.

To ensure you benefit immediately, we will show you how to apply our strategies in your current textbooks and homework assignments during the class sessions. That’s right, you will actually be getting homework done during this program. More importantly, you will be learning how to do it with less stress and more confidence.

Will I see an immediate improvement in my reading speed and comprehension?

If you diligently apply our techniques (during our class sessions), you should definitely see an improvement in your personal reading rate and comprehension by the end of the program.

Reading Scores From Past Students

Will this program guarantee me a 4.0 grade point average?

Always be wary of any educational service that guarantees a "sure thing." We will show you how to learn more efficiently and effectively; the result - as always - will be up to you. Of course, you will have the opportunity to apply our learning strategies on your current homework assignments (and many students have seen a significant improvement in their grades within just a few weeks).

Where will this program take place?

All class sessions will take place at your school, and can be scheduled to coincide with your normal course times. Class size for each session will be limited to 10, but several sessions will be offered throughout the day and evening to accommodate your individual schedule.

Typically, the 15-hour program will run for three weeks with one-hour (or 50-minute) sessions meeting every day (Monday through Friday); the 20-hour seminar will run for four weeks.

Variations of this schedule are possible based on student interest.

What is the difference between the (15 & 20-hour) program formats?

The shorter 15-hour format will include all of our reading and study skills techniques but the practice time (in class) will be somewhat limited. The longer 20-hour format will allow for extensive practice of the techniques during each class session (on your own homework).

What if I don't have time to take this program?

We recognize that you have a full schedule while in school, so we have structured this program to meet your particular needs. For an example, visit our page called
"Frequently Asked Questions by Students".

What do I need to bring to class?

You should bring only your current homework assignments since you will be applying the reading and study strategies directly to these assignments.

At the start of the program you will receive a TL Student Binder which contains:

All the reading and study skills strategies
●  Step-by-step guidelines for implementing the strategies
●  Templates for note-taking and research projects
●  Templates for time management & organization
●  Color-coded dividers for easy reference

 Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, for every 10 paid enrollments we provide one full scholarship (1 free enrollment) or 2 partial scholarships (2 half-price enrollments). Typically, your school will decide which students receive the scholarships (based on financial need).

If you don't qualify for a scholarship, you can still receive a free enrollment by posting seminar flyers around your school's campus - see Job Opportunities.
